We are finally on the last chapter of this book. If you have made it to the last chapter without skipping any of the chapters, congratulations. You are now ready to prepare for the Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant Exam. You are not yet ready to take the test. But you are ready to begin the preparation for it.
Throughout the entirety of the book, we discussed concepts related to the need for a customer data platform and went into the specifics. The book will help you manage and deliver on a Data Cloud implementation project. However, the exam needs more than that. You need to possess good product knowledge as well as technical knowledge of the Data Cloud product to successfully ace the exam.
In this chapter, we will explain how to begin your preparation for the exam, go through the exam guide, and discuss in brief how to prepare for each section, tips, and finally some mock questions with their solutions and explanations. By the end of the chapter, you should be prepared for the exam, provided you follow the steps mentioned in this chapter.
Note: Salesforce Data Cloud is now known as Salesforce Customer Data Cloud or Salesforce Data Cloud.

It is said that “well begun is half done”. Starting your preparation for the exam in the correct way is key to staying on the path and passing the consultant exam.
Note: If your company is a Salesforce partner or you are a Salesforce employee then you will have access to the Salesforce Partner community, where you can access the Partner Learning Camp. In the partner learning camp, you need to complete the Get to Know Data Cloud Curriculum, which will prepare you for the exam along with the “Prepare for Your Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant Credential” trailmix.
To begin your preparation, you need to first check whether your company is a Salesforce partner. If you are working for a company that implements Salesforce for clients, then chances are your company is a Salesforce partner.
If your company uses Salesforce for its business, do check internally whether your company is a partner.
If your company is a partner, then reach out to your alliance partner or an executive who deals with Salesforce AE and ask for a partner credential for yourself. Once you have the partner credentials, you can start your preparations for the exam.
Here are the steps you need to perform to start preparing on the partner org portal.
- Login to https://partners.salesforce.com/ using your partner org credential (Figure 10.1)

- Click on the Learn tab.
- Click on the Start Learning button inside the Partner Learning Camp (Figure 10.2)

- You will be asked to log in using the trailblazer.me account. Click on the Log in button.
- Click on the Browse Catalog tab and search for data Cloud. On the left-hand side, click on the Curriculum button to filter the courses by the curriculum. Enroll in the Get to Know Data Cloud course, which will help you prepare for the exam (Figure 10.3).

- Complete the course in a sequential manner. Without completing this course, taking the exam is not recommended. Depending on your speed and comprehension, it will take somewhere from 4 to 6 weeks to complete the course.
After signing up for the partner learning camp course, you need to sign up for a trailhead account.

- Sign up for a trailhead account.
- Search for Prepare for your Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant Credential. Or go to the link number 2 provided at the end of the chapter.
- Click on the Follow button.
Complete this trailmix after completing the partner learning camp curriculum. There will be some overlap between the two and it should help you revise the data cloud concepts.
