Salesforce products are ever evolving. Salesforce continuously innovates its products and has three releases each year, summer, spring, and winter. In these releases, they fix bugs as well as introduce new features. With future releases, customers will find it easier to deal with certain tasks on the Data Cloud as well as try new features on the Data Cloud.
For Salesforce Data Cloud, Salesforce releases new features every month. For the month of August 2023, they have released:
Directly Ingest Parquet Files into Data Cloud: Data Cloud now has native support for the Parquet file format when ingesting data streams from Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage (GCS), and Microsoft Azure Storage. Parquet, an open-source columnar storage format, is specifically engineered for optimal performance in large-scale data processing tasks, especially those involving substantial workloads. By adopting the Parquet format, you can seamlessly set up data streams for ingestion without the necessity of converting them to CSV, resulting in reduced intricacy and cost savings.
Future release
- Use Your Own SFTP Server to Activate Segments
Bring in your own Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) server to activate data to more external platforms.
This feature is in pilot and is yet to be made generally available. We can expect this in a future release.
- Einstein GPT
Einstein GPT can be a game-changer for the Data Cloud. Currently, Einstein GPT is in closed pilot and will be released soon to the general public. We can expect many Data Cloud use cases from Einstein GPT, especially in the calculated insights, segmentation, and activation phase.
- AI-Powered field service
AI-powered field service along with Data Cloud will greatly enhance the experience of frontline field workers. AI will power their skilling, service preparation, and service delivery experience.
It is an interesting time to be in the tech world. We are experiencing one-in-a-generation tech trends unfolding right before us. The AI revolution is upon us, and it might even be bigger than the internet revolution. AI will touch every aspect of human life.
Salesforce has been investing in AI for a while now. Salesforce has been experimenting with augmented AI and has already released many augmented AI applications and citizen data science tools. With the rise of Gen AI, Salesforce is now making investments in making Gen AI available on its platform and to its customers. Although it is too soon to test the usefulness of the products, it is surely a good time to get excited about the possibilities of Gen AI in the Salesforce ecosystem. Using a combination of Gen AI tools and Salesforce features, we can transform the customer experience landscape. Data Cloud can provide the much-needed data based on which Gen AI can be trained and therefore will provide relevant customer-specific solutions. We are excited and so should you.
